Pros and Cons of AI Generated Blogs

The following blog was created entirely using AI (Artificial Intelligence). Am I a fan? No, not really. I have no idea if someone else will have these exact same words generated for them if they used the same text prompts. I also found it dry and surprisingly short on content. Here are what this AI Generator deemed pros of cons of itself.

AI generated content has been a highly debated topic in the field of writing and blogging. While it can be efficient in producing large amounts of content in a short time, there are also potential drawbacks to consider. Here are some pros and cons of AI generated blogs:

Pros:

  • Speed and Efficiency: AI generated content can be produced at a much faster rate than human written content. With machines processing data and producing blogs, it can save human writers time and effort.

  • Accuracy and Consistency: AI generated blogs are often highly accurate and consistent in their style and tone, making it easier to maintain a consistent brand voice.

  • Data Analytics: By analyzing user's online behavior and preferences, AI can provide highly personalized content, increasing engagement and website traffic.

  • Cost-effective: AI generated content can be a cost-effective alternative to hiring human writers, especially for businesses managing a large amount of content.

Cons:

  • Lack of Creativity and Authenticity: AI generated content might lack the creative flair and authenticity of human-written content, making it feel robotic.

  • Inability to match human touch: AI is incapable of reproducing the level of empathy

My Own Summary

So that’s all it generated. This blog is not comprehensive and definitely lacks that human touch.

  • Is it useful? Perhaps. It might be a way to create an initial outline or bring up an idea that wasn’t thought of initially.

  • Did it actually save time? Not at all. I spent more time formatting the information in a way that matched my other blogs than it would have taken to write it. I also still had to add my own images, metadata, and SEO.

  • Will I use it? Probably not. I try to write in a clear but user-friendly style so that my readers know that they can get thorough, researched information but are not bored by the time they get through it.

This generator did not supply keyword research but others do. The article above was free with a Squarespace subscription. I tried generating a similar article with another company that is known for digital marketing and is beta-testing its own paid AI text generator. It offered better titles, metadata, and more thorough paragraphs but at this point, it was still lacking the volume necessary for good SEO.

For now, it’s back to the keyboard. Besides, I like writing my own words.
